Get URL of the ttf (true type fonts). |
To get the URL of the ttf file that contains the dingbat you want to work with, first write down the letter or number of the particular image. These are case sensitive. Then just click on the ttf-URL below that page of dingbats. You will get a pop-up message telling you that the item chosen contains a kind of information that can't be used. Click OK on the pop-up. Next hit your Go-To button on your keyboard. Delete the http:// already in the box. Click on Show last and the ttf URL will appear in the box. CCP the URL. This is done by hitting the Cmd and A keys together, to hightlight the URL, and then hit the Cmd and X keys together to extract the URL. When you get to the space on the Annotate page inside the IM Studio where you need to use it then you will hit the Cmd and V keys together and it will appear wherever you place it. Your Find box is a good place to store it if you want to. |
Go to an Image Magick Studio with a background gif. |
You should put an Image Magick Studio on an F key to make it easier to move back and forth. You can use the white gif or one of the face gifs for your background. Click on the gif and when it appears alone on the screen, press your F key to take it to an IM Studio. Once there you should see the image. Then click on the Studio of your choice under the Image Magick button. Sometimes a Studio will ask for the URL again but some don't. This is something to be aware of, so you might want to jot down the URL. If you can see your image once inside the studio, your all set to begin. If you get a box for a URL, you will have to put the URL in there again and that will take your image inside the IM Studio. |
Resize your gif to size desired to work with. Can be resized again or trimmed later. |
To resize your gif once inside the studio, click on resize. If you have a 50x50 image and would like it to be 200x200 you only have to erase the 50x50 already in there and type in 200 and click on resize. It will automatically resize it to 200x200. If you wanted to make it 100x150 you would have to type in 100x150! The exclamation point tells the program that you are changing the overall parameter. Can be resized again or trimmed later. To trim an image after you have completed it and have some white space around it, go into Transform. Click on trim, and scroll down to the bottom and click on reset page geometry and then Transform. |
Annotate. Paint. See Main tutorial section for Offset help and for all paint options. |
To extract your dingbat from the ttf file, click on Annotate. Once inside that page you will see a blank text box. This is where you type in the letter of the specific dingbat you want. Then below that are the Offset numbers which tell the program where on the image you would like the dingbat to appear. Geometry too works with these offset numbers. For example if you put North in the box and typed in +0+100 on the offset it means you want your dingbat to be 100 pixels down from the top center (North) of the page. Center +0+0 is center on the page. See Main tutorial section on Annotate for more on offset if this is not clear. You can hit your back button to change the position. Next is the Fill Color section. If you have a colored dingbat (solid) you can put any color in here, otherwise black works best. See the Main Tutorial section for more information on Paint options. Then the point size must be in there for the size of the dingbat. 24 is in there now. You might try 50 to see how it looks. It it is too big or too small, hit the back button to change the number. Last, put the ttf URL in the box under the box of font names. This URL overrides any font name that may be checked. Then click on Annotate. |
Output image. |
To output an image, click on output. On the next page, the type is a gif for a transparent image or jpg for a nontransparent image. Click Single file. Down the bottom of the page you can type 25 in the box under quality to reduce the number of bytes without losing anything in the image. Then click output. On the next page you will see a thumbnail of your image. Click on the image. There it will be seen alone on the screen. You can either go back to the IM Studio with your F key and upload to scrapbook from there, or go to your favorite uploader or transloader. If you need the URL for that image, while on the black screen, hit your Go-To button, delete the http and click Show Last and then CCP the URL. You can put this URL in the uploader on this site to upload to scrapbook. |
